Just 200 metres from the property, you will find the funicolar that in five minutes will take you to Mergellina harbour: The jetfoils leave from here for Ischia, Procida and in summer for the Aeolian islands. Just 200 metres from Mergellina Funicolare station you will find the metro station that in five minutes (line 2) will take you to the historic centre of the city. The tram-bus instead taking you to the Beverello harbour, the main departure point for ferries and jetfoils to the main tourist attractions - Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Ischia, Procida. The Bus stop, instead, is just in front of the B&B.

The B&B has two rooms hosting from 1 to 7 people. The two rooms can be also rented together as an apartment with kitchen. They both have plenty of space, a queen size bed and are elegantly furnished, with air conditioning, free wi-fi connection Tv set and large closets are available in both rooms. An extra bed can be placed on request. Both rooms have private (ensuite) bathroom with shower and hairdryer, air conditioning, colour TV, heating.

Posillipo District Information: Posillipo is a residential quarter of Naples, called Pusilleco in the Neapolitan language. It is mentioned in classical Greek and Roman sources. Indeed, the Greeks first named this rocky, wooded height at the western end of the Bay of Naples Pausylipon, meaning "respite from worry".

The area remained largely undeveloped until a road, via Posillipo, was built between 1812-24. That road starts at sea-level at the Mergellina harbor and moves up the coast, roughly parallel to the shore.The area has been heavily overbuilt since the end of XVII, but contains some notable historical buildings and landmarks.

Among these is the Rosebery Villa, the Italian President`s residence when he is in Naples. It is, today, the official residence of the President of the Republic of Italy when he visits Naples.

Also, there are Roman ruins at waters edge and just before the cape at the end of the Bay of Naples, one can even see the openings of the air-shafts that ventilated the tunnel that led to the residence of Vedius Pollio. Those premises are partially intact upon the cliff, and include an amphitheater on a height. The houses at water`s edge all have at least small piers or landings, and there are even a few small coves with breakwaters along the way.

These small harbors are the nuclei for separate, named communities such as Marechiaro and Gaiola. Posillipo is the birthplace of Franco Alfano, the Italian composer and pianist best known for completing Turandot.
